9 Days Somaliland Tour

Day 01: Pick up Hargeisa City Tour

Arrive in Hargeisa and   transfer to your hotel .In the afternoon you will visit the city and seeing some site including the war memorial with its unusual monument crashed MiG Fighter plane, and the market including the gold and camel markets.

Day 02: Drive Hargeisa to Dhagah-Kure- Borama Back to Hargeisa

After breakfast you will visit eastward, the town of Arabsiyo and its valleys on the way   to Gabiley. Gabiley is known as the breadbasket of Somaliland and is renowned for its agriculture. Then you will visit the rock art   site at Dhagah khoure and then to Borama for the night.

Day 03: Drive Borama to Jufo –Hargeisa

After breakfast you will visit borama and Amoud University.Borama is an important education centre and is the home of historic Amoud University.The first post- war institution of higher learning throughout Somaliland.then back hargeisa. On the way back to you will stop at the nomadic settlement of Jufo before returning to hargeisa.

Day 04: Drive Hargeisa to LaasGeel –Berbera

After breakfast you will drive to the cave of laasgeel, where rock art dating back 5,000 year has been found. One of the preserved examples in all Africa and a real highlight of the trip.After visiting we will continue to berbera on the coast, with its interesting architecture from both ottoman and British periods.

Day 05: Drive Berbera to Sheikh –Burao

In morning after breakfast you will visit berbera. After lunch you will travel through the mountians to sheikh, through fantastic scenery with great view of the dry plain below.At Sheikh you will visit the ruins of ferdusa, a city dating back to the 16^th century. Then proceed to traveling Burao.

Day 06: Drive Burao to Maduna –Erigavo

After breakfast you will traveling to Erigavo and on the stop by Maduna,Maduna in the Sanaag region near to the town of Eel Afwayn is a major site of the Islamic period with the architecture of probably early medieval times,located on high ground in a mountainous landscape.There are standing house structure with some rooms still with roofs.The locals warn about snakes they have encountered at this site at various times,then  reach Erigravo late afternoon.

Day 07: Drive Erigavo to Daallo-Burao

After breakfast you will traveling to Daallo or as it is officially known,Golis range mountians are located near the town of Erigavo, in the middle of the Sanaag region in northern Somalia. Daallo Mountains have an elevation of some 4000 feet then back to Erigavo city and travel back to Burao.

Day 08: Drive Burao to Ga’an Libah-Hargeisa

After breakfast you will drive back to Hargeisa via Ga’an Libah, a tall limestone ridge that rises to an elevation of 1,720m. Ga’an libah is a surprising example of the diversity of Somaliland. The name means ‘Lion paw’ and although lion have been extinct here this well-watered and comparatively lush region holds a diversity of wildlife including kudu, hyena,gazelles, baboons and leopard. Situated high on escarpment,Ga’an Liban receives more rainfall than most of the country and many parts are  thick with trees- birdlife here is also quite after sightseeing back to Hargeisa.

Day 08: Departure

After breakfast you will transfer to airport for your departure.
