Day 1: Addis Ababa – Fly To Semera Drive To Afdera-Volcano

This day we will meet you at the town of Semera airport then we will drive to Danakil depression. We start an early drive to Lake Afdera(a salt lake that is located in the heart of Danakil Depressions and this lake you may have a chance at the natural hot springs then later you have to swim around this lake we will be driving to Dodom (at the base of Erta Ale).

Leave after lunch around 1:30 PM for a trek to Dodom, about 9.5 km from Erta Ale, which takes roughly one hour. Enjoy an early dinner at 5:00 PM while camels transport camping gear and food to the volcano’s rim, where the night is spent observing the boiling lava. Erta Ale, a shield volcano rising 613 meters with a permanent lava lake, is part of the Danakil Depression, known for its allure and physical challenges, and features one of the world’s five existing lava lakes, active since the early 20th century.

Over Night: camping on the mountain

Day 2: ErtaAle-HamadEla-Dallol

This day after an early breakfast we will drive to HamadEla at 04:30, a better village with a total population of about 500 people. You will see lots of camel caravans and you will have the sunset look from the very shallow salt Lake Assale.

Morning tour Drive to Ragad (Asebo), the place where the localities are mining salt. 1,200 km2 (460 sq mi) of the Afar Depression is covered by salt, and you will Look at the activity of breaking the salt from the ground, local people are cutting it into rectangular pieces and loading it on camels.
