If you are an adventurous traveler with a passion for challenging mountain hikes and a desire to experience the breathtaking beauty of the Simien Mountains, this package is tailored to your interests. The Simien Mountain range, one of Africa’s largest, features numerous peaks exceeding 4,000 meters in elevation. The highest point, Mount Ras Dashen (4,620 meters), is not only the tallest in the range but also the highest in Ethiopia and the fourth highest peak on the continent. To fully appreciate these majestic mountains, we will explore them on foot, accompanied by mules. Throughout our journey, we will have the opportunity to encounter three of Ethiopia’s largest endemic mammal species. This incredible adventure is part of our Simien Trekking Tour.
Day 01: Arrival and Sightseeing in Addis Ababa (The New Flower)
Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. After refreshing, begin your sightseeing tour of Addis Ababa with a drive up to Mount Entoto for a panoramic view of the city. Descend to visit the National Museum, where you will have the chance to see the oldest hominid fossil, ‘Lucy.’ Continue to the Holy Trinity Cathedral, built during WWII, and then proceed to the Ethnographic Museum, formerly the palace of Emperor Haile Selassie.

Day 02: Fly to Gondar and Drive to the Simien Mountains (UNESCO World Heritage Site)
In the morning, fly to Gondar and continue driving to Debark to begin your trek in the Simien Mountains National Park. En route, stop for a picnic lunch on the escarpment while enjoying the breathtaking scenery of one of Africa’s highest mountain chains. You may spot Lammergeyer vultures, Gelada Baboons, and bushbuck. After lunch, take a short introductory trek to Sankaber Camp via Buyit Ras, where you will experience the park’s magnificent landscapes. Your trekking days will range between altitudes of 3,500 and 4,000 meters.

Day 03: Trek from Sankaber to Geech
After breakfast, pack your gear and meet the muleteers before starting your trek to Geech. After about one and a half hours, you will reach and cross the Jinbar River and its spectacular waterfalls, particularly impressive after the rainy season. Continue along the escarpment to take in views of the majestic Geech Abyss. The trail offers wonderful scenery and the opportunity to see herds of endemic Gelada Baboons grazing along the slopes.

Day 04: Trek to Imet Gogo
This is one of the most spectacular days of the trek. In the morning, hike to Imet Gogo (3,926m), located at the end of a long ridge overlooking vast gorges and the surrounding mountain ranges. The panoramic views from this point are extraordinary. Continue to Seha, another remarkable viewpoint in the national park, and enjoy a picnic lunch before proceeding to Quedadit, the final viewpoint of the day. Along the way, you will encounter the Gelada Baboons, and with some luck, spot endemic species such as the Simien Wolf and Walia Ibex. Return to Geech Camp in the afternoon to relax and enjoy the evening.

Day 05: Drive to Gondar – Fly Back to Addis Ababa and Departure
After breakfast, drive back to Gondar for your flight to Addis Ababa. In the evening, enjoy a farewell cultural dinner at one of the city’s best traditional restaurants, featuring live music and cultural dances from various Ethiopian regions. Afterward, you will be transferred to the airport for your international departure
