2 DAYS TOURS SOUTH SUDAN TO JUBA AND MUNDARI
Itinerary
Day 1:Juba, South Sudan
Arrive at your convenience in Juba, the capital city of South Sudan, which has flights from several countries within Africa and Dubai, as well as directly from Sudan.
A pre-tour meeting will take place in the lobby of the hotel at 5:00pm to discuss the itinerary and to meet your fellow travelers and the VisitHornAfrica.com guide. Dinner and drinks at the AFEX camp by the Nile. Overnight in Juba at Royal Palace hotel or similar.
Day 2:Juba – Mundari Camp
After breakfast at the hotel, visit Juba University, which was established in 1975 to provide higher education for the southern areas of Sudan. This is an excellent opportunity to meet some of South Sudan’s most talented students. Discover Jubek’s Tomb – Jubek is an important figure of the Bari community, whose history has been marked by many underlying tensions. As a result of Jubek’s high reputation in the country, the capital has been named in his honor. Take a look at Konyo Konyo, the largest market in South Sudan. It is an amazing place where South Sudan’s diverse ethnicities mix.
In the afternoon, we depart for Mundari camp. The driving time differs, as the Mundari move their camp around with them from place to place. The drive can take anywhere from 15 minutes to three hours. On the way, you will stop at small villages for photo opportunities and then proceed to a Mundari settlement, where the village chief will personally grant you access to the local community. One of the highlights of this trip is when the herders return to the village with their livestock in masses by sunset and begin preparing them for the evening meal. It will be an atmospheric experience to be surrounded by the mist created by the smoke the Mundari prepare to repel mosquitoes. It is a pleasure and a lot of fun to spend an evening with the Mundari people. Overnight Mundari camping
Day 3:Mundari Camp – Juba – Airport drop-off
In the morning, we recommend waking up early to view or partake in the preparation of cattle for the day ahead by the herders. There is no doubt that morning is the busiest time of the day for locals. If you need assistance with any chores, please do not hesitate to ask.
Return to Juba and the day will conclude with airport drop-off due to catch up your international flight and tour ends transfer to the airport.
